Motorola E1000 fat phone

Motorola E1000Motorola have announced the new E1000 dual mode phone in a rotund candybar form factor. Unfortunately it does not have EDGE connectivity, being limited to mere GPRS. The phone features a 1.2 megapixel camera and video recording capabilities. Via MobileWhack, who said: The E1000 looks to be a solid middle of the road mobile phone for those who need 3G capabilities but aren't willing to shell out big bucks for high end models.

  • Large 262K color TFT display with 240 x 320 resolution

  • Two loudspeakers providing simulated surround sound

  • TransFlash memory card support

  • 1.2 megapixel digital camera

  • Bluetooth support

  • Measures: 114mm x 52mm x 23mm

  • Weighs 140g

MobileBurn have posted a thorough review, where they conclude: "I really like the Motorola E1000’s design. The screen, 3D speakers, excellent speakerphone function, 3G capabilities, and wide range of connectivity options make it a very capable handset. However, the odd placement of the joystick, laggy UI, poor camera, and poor battery life make it quite a hassle to use. To me, the usability of a phone ranks as the top priority. Unfortunately, the E1000 falls in the average category. If you are looking for a 3G phone with excellent stereo sound, and you think that you can live with all its shortcomings, the E1000 is it. Otherwise, you have been warned."
