Moto have announced the A1200 smartphone, a successor to their not-quite-a-smash-hit A1000 UIQ phone. This quadband phone features a QVGA (320x240) LCD touchscreen with a transparent flip-down front cover and a 2 megapixel camera and integrated stylus.
In a move which deosn't make much sense to us, this iteration of the A-series drops Symbian's UIQ operating system in favour of a Linux-based alternative. Memory expansion is via microSD (transFlash) cards, while connectivity is via EDGE, Bluetooth 2.0 and mini USB. There is also an integrated FM radio tuner as well as a business card reader software.
