It looks like i-mate has been neglected recently by HTC - after all i-mate branded HTC Hermes Pocket PC phone still is not available - but if i-mate JAQ would be released soon this negligence could be forgotten! Shortly speaking: it looks like cheapish Windows Mobile smartphone with QWERTY keyboard - something like HTC Excalibur but without Wi-Fi! Or maybe it is just another incarnation of HTC Exaclibur?
